Biography

Philip McHugh leads Worldpay’s Global SMB group. He is a seasoned executive with over 30 years’ experience in payments, fintech, and banking leadership, with a proven track record of driving strategic growth and operational excellence.

Most recently, Philip served as the Chairman of the Vodeno Group, a leading Banking as a Service (BaaS) player, based in Europe.  Additionally, he invested in and actively helped to grow Flex, an AI-driven platform focused on leveraging data to prevent online payment declines.

Previously, Philip was the CEO of Paysafe Group, leading the company through a material turn around, returning their US SMB business into a strong growth engine, and successfully listing the company on the New York Stock Exchange (NYSE).  Philip’s earlier career roles included the President of Merchant Solutions for TSYS, CEO of Payments for Barclays, and CFO and product roles with Barclays and Citigroup in London, Miami, and Sao Paulo.
